Sky Germany – as relayed by transfermarkt.de – claims that Augsburg and Mainz are interested in acquiring young German attacking talent Moritz Göttlicher of FC Bayern Munich. The 17-year-old could be preparing to make the leap to the Bundesliga level next season. At present, Göttlicher still features for the Bayern U19s. Thus far this year, Göttlicher has scored four goals and registered two assists through seven matches.

Göttlicher still hasn’t featured for the Bayern reserves, but neither had  current German mega-talent Lennart Karl prior to this season. Karl and Göttlicher both featured for the Bayern U17 team that won all 14 of their matches in the 2024/25 UEFA Youth League. Göttlicher contributed 11 assists in the team’s 14 group stage games and added another five assists in the playoffs.

Sky reports that Bayern wish to extend with the youngster, but Göttlicher is eager to test the waters elsewhere. Sitting on a contract due to expire at the end of the current season, Göttlicher remains free to negotiate a move to a different club on a free transfer as soon as the January transfer window opens.
