Bayern Munich chief responds to Lamine Yamal’s Ballon d’Or comments | OneFootball

Bayern Munich director Max Eberl has this weekend sent an indirect message the way of Barcelona star Lamine Yamal. This comes owing to a round of recent comments laid out by the 19-year-old regarding this year’s Ballon d’Or.

Winger Lamine is of course considered as being amongst the very favourites to lift this year’s ‘Golden Ball’ in Paris next month.

Speaking during an interview with Movistar this week, the Spanish international therefore made use of the opportunity to make his case for the prize.

Lamine’s comments turned heads across the world of football, after the youngster suggested that he and Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé should be considered the clear frontrunners to be named the best player in the game, with his own claim the strongest of all.

This indirectly ruled Bayern Munich frontman Harry Kane – another of the Ballon d’Or favourites – out of the running, in Lamine’s eyes at least.

Drawn on the comments of Barcelona’s attacking prodigy during his own exchange with the media this weekend, the aforementioned Max Eberl was therefore sure to snipe back, assuring:

“The best players are those who don’t need a campaign. Michael Olise should also be in the conversation; he’s one of the best in the world.”
