Departing Bayern Munich coach Hansi Flick was keen to sign former Crystal Palace midfielder Max Meyer, it has been revealed.
BILD says several of Flick's recommendations were rejected by the board.
In addition to well-known players such as Mario Götze (28) and Emre Can (27), the Munich coach had other candidates for the midfield in mind: Meyer (25) also was on Flick's list when he was still under contract with Crystal Palace.
In January, the ex-international moved to FC Köln, signing to the end of the season.
