Bayern Munich growing frustrated with Kim Min-jae | OneFootball

According to kicker (via @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich are growing frustrated with centre-back Kim Min-jae.

When the South Korean defender joined Bayern last summer, there was great anticipation regarding how Kim would take to life in the Bundesliga.

Having been considered a strong, dominant, and powerful centre-back during his time in Serie A, there was a feeling as though Kim would quickly become the best defender in Germany.

However, despite a positive start to life in Bavaria under Thomas Tuchel, when the 27-year-old returned from the Asian Cup in February, he appeared to struggle to find his form.

This is something that has failed to change, as against VfL Wolfsburg on Sunday afternoon, the South Korean looked far from his best while being at fault for Die Wölfe’s second goal.

This has been noted internally at Bayern, with those in charge at the club agreeing that Kim has still not adjusted to life in Germany.

When in Napoli, Kim could sit deeper and be more dominant, due to the style of defending in Italy.

Nevertheless, in the Bundesliga, he has been expected to play higher up the pitch, something the 27-year-old is not comfortable with.

It is believed that Bayern will give Kim time to adapt, but should he continue to underwhelm, then the record champions may need to address the issue in January or next summer.
