Bayern Munich is beginning to look beyond the Manuel Neuer era and has reportedly already identified his successor.

That man is Mike Maignan, currently the goalkeeper for AC Milan. The 30-year-old French shot-stopper, whose contract with the Italian club is nearing its end, was previously linked with Chelsea during the last summer transfer window, but no deal materialized.

According to Teamtalk, Bayern is now keen to sign Maignan to secure the club’s future, with Neuer still active this season at 39 years old. The German champions are preparing for a smooth transition to ensure continued solidity between the posts once their legendary skipper eventually departs.
