Manchester United have secured LOSC Lille defender Leny Yoro to strengthen their defense both now and in the long term, given his young age. However, Yoro’s imminent arrival raises the question of how this will impact their ongoing interest in Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt.

Sky Sport Germany’s Florian Plettenberg reported that negotiations between Manchester United and Bayern Munich for de Ligt have gone cold. United are hesitant to meet Bayern’s demand of €50 million plus bonuses and have now prioritized pursuing the signing of Yoro.

Moreover, the Red Devils aren’t the only club linked to the Dutchman. Last month, RMC Sport reported that PSG are very interested in de Ligt, who is under contract with Bayern until 2027, and see him as a crucial addition to their team.

Uli Hoeness has confirmed that de Ligt could leave Bayern Munich this summer amid speculation linking him with a move to Manchester United.

“I would have no problem if he stays,” Hoeness said (h/t The Evening Standard). “Personally, I would not sell [Dayot] Upamecano.”

Unless Manchester United and Bayern Munich find common ground on a transfer fee, the 24-year-old will be available to PSG and other clubs.
