Bayern Munich in talks with representatives of Cody Gakpo and Rafael Leão

Bayern Munich have identified Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo and Milan’s Rafael Leão as candidates to strengthen their attack ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Kicker reports that Max Eberl is in discussions with representatives of both Gakpo and Leão but note that a transfer would cost in excess of €70m. Therefore, Bayern would likely need to sell before securing a transfer for either of these players. In the case of Leão, it’s suggested that Milan would command in excess of €100m for the Portuguese attacker, who scored 12 goals and provided 13 assists in 50 games for Lombardy club last season.

Who could leave Bayern Munich in the summer?

A potential sales candidate is João Palhinha. Speaking after Portugal’s win over Germany in the UEFA Nations League, the 29-year-old – who has a contract until 2028 – said he will speak with club officials before making a decision on his future, but Kicker add that the Portuguese midfielder has received enquiries. Other potential departures include Raphael Guerreiro, Sacha Boey and Bryan Zaragoza. Kingsley Coman could also leave should they receive a substantial fee for the Frenchman from a Saudi club.
