The Bavarians have been on the lookout for a replacement goalkeeper since captain Manuel Neuer broke his leg in a skiing accident.

At first, many believed that Alexander Nübel would return from Monaco where he is currently on loan. However, the 26-year-old is unwilling to make an early return if he is going to end up being the number two again once Neuer is fully recovered.

Since then, Bayern have been heavily linked with Yann Sommer whose contract at Borussia Mönchengladbach is up in the summer.

As per the latest report, the club is now looking at German international Kevin Trapp from Eintracht Frankfurt. Trapp was recently offered an extension with Frankfurt with his current deal running out in 2024. It was reported that the deal would mean a salary cut for the 32-year-old but with a possible job within the club once he retires.

Trapp would be considered a potential contender for the number-one spot even when Neuer returns from his injury.
