He was strongly linked with Inter Milan, but talks collapsed. Bayern are now hoping to bring the 27-year-old to Germany.

Bayern change their transfer focus

The German champions were in advanced talks with Chelsea for Nicolas Jackson, and both clubs had reached an agreement for a loan deal.

This forced Bayern to look elsewhere, and they have identified Lookman as a possible solution for their attacking needs.

Lookman is open to leaving Atalanta and wants to take the next step in his career by moving to a bigger stage.

He started his career at Charlton Athletic before moving on to Everton, RB Leipzig, Fulham and Leicester City.

Although he showed glimpses of quality at those clubs, he struggled to make a lasting impact.

Atalanta paid around €10 million for him in 2022, which proved to be the turning point in his career.

He became one of the most exciting forwards in Serie A, bagging 17 goals and 10 assists in 45 games during the 2023-24 campaign.

The highlight came in the Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen, where his stunning hat-trick sealed a 3-0 win.

That historic victory delivered Atalanta their first trophy in 61 years and their first European silverware.

He continued his outstanding form last season, tallying 20 goals and seven assists in 40 matches.

His performances were crucial in guiding Atalanta to a third-place finish and a spot in this season’s Champions League.
