Bayern Munich: Leon Goretzka, it's official!

Leon Goretzka will not be leaving Bayern Munich this winter. Despite interest from Atlético Madrid, who were looking to replace Conor Gallagher, the German midfielder has chosen to stay in Munich until the end of the season.

Having joined in 2018 from Schalke 04, Goretzka is under contract until this summer. Bayern confirms that the player feels at home at the club and is determined to continue playing a key role for the team.

Christoph Freund, the club's sporting director, clarified:

Leon is important for us. He has decided to stay and will give everything until the end of the season. This summer, we will discuss his future.

After eight trophy-laden seasons, Goretzka will continue his career elsewhere, while Milan remains attentive to his future as a free agent.
