Bayern Munich are likely to extend Eric Dier’s contract until 2026, according to Florian Plettenberg.
There have been concrete talks in previous weeks between the club and Dier regarding a contract extension. All parties are welcoming of a new contract, however, the fine details are still to be finalised at this stage.
Offering Dier a contract extension wasn’t something that Bayern were considering halfway through this season, as he was surplus to requirements.
However, the Englishman has stepped up his performances in recent months and has slotted in well to the starting XI when there have been injuries to fellow defenders.
Dier is likely to also play a key role with Bayern as they seek to progress in the Champions League semi-finals and win the Bundesliga title. This is primarily down to the injuries of Alphonso Davies and Dayot Upamecano.
Dier has pleasantly surprised the Bayern bosses, including head coach Vincent Kompany, who recently praised the defender on his recent form.
