Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are reportedly keen on signing Borussia Dortmund youngster Jamie Gittens, according to journalist Florian Plettenberg.
Gittens has enjoyed an impressive campaign, bagging nine goals and three assists in 23 matches across all competitions.
The Englishman has three-and-a-half years remaining on his current Dortmund contract but could be playing his trade at the Allianz Arena next season.
Following failed moves for Xavi Simons and Desire Doue last summer, and the uncertain futures of Leroy Sane and Kingsley Coman, Bayern are targeting some attacking reinforcements.
A January move for Gittens looks highly unlikely, and any summer deal will largely depend on whether he formally expresses a desire to leave after being made aware of Bayern’s interest.
Gittens is high on the list of attacking targets for Bayern, but they are also keeping an eye on Nico Williams, who has a €60 million release clause and was courted by Barcelona a few months ago.
While Bayern are expected to be reasonably active in the market over the next couple of windows, they are currently focused on tying several first-team stars to new deals.
Following a resounding 5-1 triumph over RB Leipzig on Friday, Bayern are four points clear at the top of the Bundesliga table heading into the festive break.
They will resume their league campaign against Borussia Monchengladbach on January 11.
