Bayern Munich are reportedly taking the threat of Liverpool 'very seriously'. Wouldn't be the first time the Reds were a problem for them.
Bayern Munich saw their plans ruined in the summer when Liverpool won the race to sign Florian Wirtz. The German playmaker was 'supposed' to head to Bavaria as the latest in a long line of elite Bundesliga talents picking Bayern as their ultimate home.
Only, Wirtz instead picked Anfield - something absolutely no one saw coming. It certainly threw Bayern for a loop as they felt the signing was a formality.
They'd instead move for Luis Diaz, funnily enough, paying around £65m for the Colombian. That was to be the end of Liverpool and Bayern getting involved in transfers together - at least, for the time being.
Because there are now several players who may have a choice between the two clubs. Liverpool are linked with both Bayern's Michael Olise and Dayot Upamecano, while there's now an outside player who has the interest of the pair of clubs.
Christian Falk reports that Bayern are keen to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace when his contract expires next summer. Any dealings would start in January, with non-English clubs able to offer him a pre-contract from the 1st.
However, Guehi is very much on Liverpool's shortlist. The Reds did try to sign him in the summer, of course, and were right on the brink of a deal.
