Bayern Munich interested in Cody Gakpo after signing Luis Diaz from Liverpool last summer for around €75 million.

Bayern look back to Anfield again

Bayern Munich could be preparing another move that would concern Liverpool supporters. After successfully signing Luis Diaz from Liverpool in the last summer transfer window, the German champions are now reportedly watching another Reds attacker.

Diaz joined Bayern for fee close to €75 million, a transfer that was seen as major loss for Liverpool.

Many fans still feel his departure this season, especially with the team struggling despite spending heavily in the market.

Diaz thriving Spurs new Bayern plan

Diaz has made strong impact in Munich. He has played 25 match this season scoring 14 goal and providing 10 assist, quickly becoming one of Bayern’s key players.

His success has convinced Bayern that Liverpool’s attacking players can adapt well to the Bundesliga. Club officials believe the German league offers more space for wingers which can suit fast and direct forwards.

Bayern were first linked with Yan Diomande but the move failed after Leipzig set price above €100 million and the player showed interest in Premier League future.

Gakpo now on Bayern’s list

After missing out on Diomande, Bayern have turned their attention to Cody Gakpo, one of Liverpool’s main options on the left side.

Reports say Bayern are exploring the market and see Gakpo as proven player who could follow the same path as Diaz.

While no official talks have taken place with Liverpool or the player’s representatives, Bayern are believed to be willing to invest up to €75 million to complete the deal.

Gakpo is 26 year old and remains under contract at Liverpool until 2028. Since arriving after the 2022 World Cup, he has played 148 match scoring 46 goal and assisting 17 time while winning two trophy with the club.
