Hiroki Itō’s future at Bayern Munich remains unresolved as the transfer window enters its final month. Competition for places across the back line has intensified.

“If Hiroki Itō starts thinking about a move because he himself realizes that breaking into the team will be difficult, then we’ll work on that. We’ve now strengthened the left side with Nene (Nathaniel Brown) (in addition to Davies), and at centre-back we naturally have three outstanding players in Min-jae, Jona (Jonathan Tah) and Upa (Dayot Upamecano).”

The report also said Bayern would consider a fee around €20m, and that no concrete offers have yet been made for the 27-year-old.

Itō’s debut season was hampered by fitness issues, and he made 16 Bundesliga appearances in his second. His next step could depend on whether he stays to compete in Munich or looks elsewhere for regular minutes.
