With Bayern set to miss out of Florian Wirtz, the German giants have turned their attention to AC Milan forward Rafael Leao, according to Corriere dello Sport.
Leao had experienced a mixed season at AC Milan, completing 90 minutes just six times since mid-January.
However, the Portugal international has still scored scored eight times and provided eight assists from his 34 Serie A appearances, gathering interest from across Europe.
Bayern Munich are looking to strengthen their left wing and have been linked with AC Milan‘s Rafael Leao, who has been widely rumoured to leave Italy amid intense transfer speculation this summer.
At 25, Leao is valued at around €80million, but Milan are reportedly demanding over €130 million.
Leao has a contract until 2028 and a release clause of €175 million but will accept lower offers.
However, Bayern will face competition from Spain, where Leao has received interest from La Liga’s, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona.
Rafael Leao has been a long-standing interest for Barcelona’s Laporta, although Sporting Director, Deco is less convinced due to Leao’s issues throughout the season at Milan.
Leao is also a target for Premier League side, Chelsea, where his agent, Jorge Mendes has reportedly been ‘working for months’ on a transfer, according to Italian media.
Mendes has been given a ‘mandate’ to mediate the player’s next move.
It seems only a matter of time until Leao departs AC Milan, but speculation will continue as to where he will end up.
