Bayern Munich’s Lennart Karl to receive first Germany U21 call-up | OneFootball

Bayern Munich starlet Lennart Karl is to receive his first call-up to the Germany U21s, according to Florian Plettenberg. 

The 17-year-old attacking midfielder is having a fantastic first senior campaign with Bayern, having scored a spectacular solo goal in the Champions League and following it up with another goal against Borussia Monchengladbach just a few days later. 

Karl has made seven out of a possible nine appearances in the Bundesliga so far this season, averaging just shy of 30 minutes per match. 

At youth international level, Karl has made 13 appearances for Germany U-17s, scoring seven goals in the process. It’s clear that he is ready to take the next step and will be a great asset to Germany U21s as they face Malta and Georgia in European Championship qualifiers. 

Karl will be joining up with the likes of Paul Wanner, Nelson Weiper, and Tom Bischof as they seek to go top of their qualifying group.
