Injury issues have plagued Bayern Munich for much of the season but they have received a boost with the return of Fiete Arp.

The teenager broke his wrist in September and had been sidelined with the problem since then.

But he has returned to training for the first time, while the majority of his Bayern colleagues have departed on international duty.

In addition to Arp, the other first team players who joined U23 squad members for training under Hansi Flick were Jérôme Boateng, Thomas Müller, Javi Martínez, Michaël Cuisance, Sven Ulreich and Ron-Thorben Hoffman.

Prior to breaking his wrist, the forward missed a period of action through illness too, making it a tough start to his time in Bavaria.

It appeared opportunity may have opened up for Arp after the international break, when it was expected that the red-hot Robert Lewandowski would undergo a minor operation on a niggling groin issue.

But the Pole confirmed this week that he will postpone the surgery until the winter break, meaning chances could be further limited for the 19-year-old.

Arp has appeared on the bench with the first team just once this season and made a solitary appearance for Bayern Munich II in 3. Liga.
