Bayern pair Olise and Upamecano back as France face Italy at Stade de France | OneFootball

Bayern pair Michael Olise and Dayot Upamecano return to France’s starting line-up to face Italy at Stade de France. Zinedine Zidane takes charge for the first time at the venue as head coach.

According to BuLi News, the former Juventus midfielder scored the first goal at the stadium in 1998, then twice in that year’s World Cup final against Brazil.

Olise had come off the bench to net a solo winner against Belgium, sealing another 1-0 victory. Ousmane Dembélé captains in Kylian Mbappé’s absence.

For Italy, Nürnberg forward Mohamed Ali Zoma, from Germany’s second tier, is back in the matchday squad and hopes to make his second appearance after Roberto Mancini left him out against Türkiye.

Confirmed line-ups. France start Maignan in goal, a back line of Truffert, Upamecano, Jacquet and Kalulu, a midfield of Rabiot, Da Cunha and Cherki, and a front three of Doué, Dembélé (c) and Olise. Italy begin with Donnarumma (c), then Calafiori, Bastoni, Scalvini and Kayode, plus Fagioli, Tonali and Frattesi, with S. Esposito, Kean and F. Esposito up front.

In the group’s other game, Belgium host Türkiye.
