FC Bayern Munich plan to keep the German U21 international Noël Aséko Nkili once his loan at Hannover 96 ends. The midfielder has impressed in the second tier this season.

Aséko opened 2026 strongly, registering a goal and an assist in Hannover’s 3-1 win over Holstein Kiel on Sunday.

Bayern declined two offers for Aséko in January. According to Transfermarkt, they turned down Galatasaray’s approach, while West Ham United and Brighton & Hove Albion have also been linked as three Bundesliga clubs monitor him.

Bild reports that managing director Jörg Schmadtke said Hannover hope to keep the player next season. The second-division side have an option to buy for about a million euros, and Bayern included a buyback clause for under three million euros.

With Leon Goretzka’s impending departure confirmed and Kennet Eichhorn’s injury casting further doubt over his proposed move from Hertha BSC, Bayern could include Aséko in next season’s plans.

Aséko joined Bayern’s academy from Hertha in 2022. He initially featured for Hannover’s second team during the second half of last season, and is now a key player under Christian Titz.
