After joining Bayern Munich on loan from Gambinos Stars Africa in January, Bara Sapoko Ndiaye finally made his debut for the German champions in their 5-0 win over FC St. Pauli on Saturday, coming off the bench with six minutes remaining.
According to Abendzeitung, Bayern want to make the loan move permanent, as the 18-year-old midfielder has impressed during his spell at the club so far.
In that case, he would become Bayern’s second summer signing, with the Bavarians already having agreed a deal to re-sign Noel Aseko from Hannover 96.
As Bayern board member for sport Max Eberl said following the win over St. Pauli, Ndiaye would probably have made his debut some time ago had he not picked up an injury.
“He was unfortunately injured, so the opportunity would probably have come earlier,” said Eberl, who was pleased with what he saw from Ndiaye after he was brought on in the away match in Hamburg.
“He settled into the game very well. You could not detect any nervousness.”
Leon Goretzka described Ndiaye as a “good guy who is very grateful”.
“You could see he’s an incredible talent,” the midfielder said of his young teammate.
