Benfica are pursuing an ambitious move for Palhinha, a player Marco Silva knows well from Fulham and considers a strong fit for his project.
A Bola reports that Bayern Munich are willing to let the 31-year-old leave on loan if an immediate financial payment is included, a shift that could significantly ease negotiations.
The Bavarians’ asking price of about 25 million euros had been a major obstacle, particularly with Benfica yet to complete a big sale this window. A paid loan would give the club more room to structure a proposal acceptable to all parties.
Silva’s strong relationship with the holding midfielder is seen inside the club as a key advantage. The coach believes Palhinha could take a central role in his side.
With Bayern showing greater flexibility, the onus now falls on Rui Costa’s board to try to convert this opening into one of the headline moves of the summer.
