Bayern Munich have reportedly not given up on Maurice Krattenmacher, despite allowing the highly-rated midfielder to leave the club for Elversberg.
According to Abendzeitung reporter Patrick Strasser, Bayern's decision-makers and head coach Vincent Kompany are still keeping a close eye on the 20-year-old's development.
A buy-back clause was also included in Krattenmacher's Elversberg contract, leaving Bayern with the option to bring him back to Munich at a later date.
Krattenmacher recently caught the eye against his former club and earned praise from Bayern sporting director Max Eberl following his goal on Sunday.
Krattenmacher himself has also left the door open to a future Bayern return.
"Of course, it's every young player's dream to play for FC Bayern," he said recently.
However, the youngster stressed that his immediate focus is on playing consistently and continuing his development.
"I think sometimes you have to take what may seem like a step backwards in order to then take two steps forward," Krattenmacher added.
