Bayern ‘to make the first move’ for Real Madrid-linked Stuttgart defender | OneFootball

Bayern Munich appear well placed to sign VfB Stuttgart’s Finn Jeltsch despite interest from Real Madrid.

Bild reports that Madrid are monitoring the 20-year-old centre-back but are not pursuing him aggressively, while Bayern are thought to hold a strong advantage and be ready to act first.

One potential boost for Madrid is Sami Khedira’s presence on José Mourinho’s staff in the Spanish capital, which could help open initial talks through existing contacts.

The report adds that Bayern have previously signalled their interest and that Jeltsch could become a viable option if they need to reinforce at centre-back following the departure of Hiroki Ito and/or Min-jae Kim.

Clubs in England, including Arsenal and Manchester United, have also been linked with Jeltsch.

The defender will hope to make his Germany debut on Sunday after watching Thursday’s 2-0 win over Serbia from the bench.
