Raúl Asencio has been omitted from Real Madrid’s travelling squad for Wednesday’s Champions League quarter-final second leg at Bayern Munich, scheduled for 21.00 at the Allianz Arena.

According to Superdeporte, the centre-back started and completed Friday’s LaLiga match against Girona but has not travelled, and there is no official medical report from the club.

His absence comes on top of injuries to Thibaut Courtois and Rodrygo Goes, while Aurélien Tchouaméni must serve a one-match ban after receiving his third yellow card in last week’s first leg at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Head coach Álvaro Arbeloa recalls Álvaro Carreras, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Antonio Rüdiger after they were rested against Girona, and Franco Mastantuono returns from suspension.

The 23-man list is completed by academy trio Fran González and Javi Navarro, both goalkeepers, and midfielder Thiago Pitarch.
