Bayern Munich honorary president Uli Hoeness has been impressed with Harry Kane, but he is wary of interest from the Saudi Pro League in his star striker.
Kane is having a fantastic campaign with Die Rekordmeister, bagging 48 goals in 40 games.
The 32-year-old is on course to spearhead Bayern to another Bundesliga title, and they remain in contention for the Champions League.
However, there are rumours of a potential departure for Kane, whose contract with the Bavarians ends in 2027.
Bayern are calm, as his €60-70 million release clause will need to be triggered for him to move in this summer’s transfer window.
Hoeness understands that the Saudi Pro League’s financial pull is different, and they will have to consider offers if they are made.
He said (via Kicker): “What I hear and sense is that he and his family feel extremely comfortable here.
“But you never know when a Saudi comes along and puts a lot of money on the table. But he feels so at home.”
Bayern must not entertain that thought for even a second. Letting Kane leave, regardless of the fee, would be a self-inflicted wound of the highest order.
There are not many strikers in world football who guarantee elite output, leadership and reliability as he does.
Kane is not just scoring goals. He is the reference point of Bayern’s entire attacking structure.
His link-up play, movement, and intelligence elevate those around him, making the team more cohesive and dangerous.
He is hardly in decline. His game has never relied on raw pace, and his professionalism and conditioning suggest he can perform at this level for at least another three years.
Replacing that profile in today’s market is near impossible. Bayern struck gold with Kane, and letting him go now would be nothing short of foolish.
