Adam Aznou appears set for a swift move from Bayern Munich to Getafe, with negotiations expected to reach a conclusion imminently, according to reports from AS, Foot Mercato, and FCBInside.
The 19-year-old left-back, who spent last season on loan at Real Valladolid, has found first-team opportunities at Bayern under Vincent Kompany difficult to come by. His only appearance at the recent Club World Cup was eight minutes off the bench during the 10-0 demolition of Auckland City. In the knock-out stages and against stronger opposition, Aznou remained an unused substitute as alternative options—such as Josip Stanisic and Sacha Boey—were preferred on the left side of defence.
Getafe president Ángel Torres gave a public hint that reinforced ongoing speculation, stating, “We have a player on our radar who played for Valladolid last season.” Multiple sources, including Hanif Ben Berkane of Foot Mercato and Javier Hernández of AS (per Bavarian Football Works), report that Aznou’s switch to the Madrid-based club is all but complete, with only final details remaining before he signs. However, it is not yet settled whether this will be a straight loan, a permanent transfer, or—potentially—a sale including a buyback clause in Bayern’s favour.
Aznou’s current contract at Bayern runs until 2027 and his market value is estimated at around €4 million, but his situation in Munich has changed rapidly. While Bayern’s squad at left-back has been depleted—both Alphonso Davies and Hiroki Ito are long-term absentees—Kompany elected not to integrate Aznou into his plans, preferring to use only Raphael Guerreiro as a natural left-back and shifting other players rather than gamble on youth.
The Bayern hierarchy’s reluctance to offer Aznou playing time, even amid a squad shortage, led to increased speculation over his future earlier this summer. Aznou himself had previously signalled his intention to consider options elsewhere should his pathway to first-team minutes remain blocked. Sources suggest Getafe will offer him regular La Liga action at a higher level, after he featured for relegation-threatened Valladolid last term.
For Bayern, Aznou’s expected departure narrows their options at left-back still further, with summer transfer strategy now likely to focus on depth in this area. Despite the current injury crisis, the coaching staff appear unmoved on their evaluation of Aznou’s readiness for the Bundesliga.
The transfer is expected to be finalised within hours. Whether Aznou’s move becomes a permanent exit or retains a route back to Munich for the Moroccan youth international will depend on ongoing negotiations.
