Bayern's Hiroki Ito makes progress in injury recovery

Hiroki Ito has made an important step forward in his recovery from the muscle fiber tear he sustained at the end of February.

Bayern Munich revealed on Monday that the Japanese defender has returned to the training ground at Säbener Straße, where he completed his first individual ball training session since suffering the injury.

It remains unclear when Ito is expected back in the squad, having already missed the Bundesliga games against Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Ito also missed a significant part of the season’s start due to a metatarsal fracture.

In total, he has featured 15 times for FC Bayern this season.
