Manchester United have made contact to sign Bazoumana Touré as a transfer war threatens to erupt amongst the Premier League’s elite for the 20-year-old winger, according to a new report from Germany.

Hoffenheim’s prized jewel

Touré has emerged as one of the hottest prospects in the Bundesliga after a blistering season for TSG Hoffenheim, drawing the attention of major clubs in England and on the continent. Die Kraichgauer signed him from Swedish side Hammarby for a bargain €10 million in 2025, with his market value having skyrocketed over the last twelve months after a series of impressive displays.

Fussball Daten reveals Hoffenheim are “currently demanding between €55 and €60m” for their prized asset, though the report notes this amount is “expected to drop to around €50m in negotiations.”

The Bundesliga club, currently fifth in the table and just three points off a Champions League spot, are “extremely pleased” with Touré’s development and “would like to keep him in the squad for at least another season.”

However, well-placed sources indicate that this stance will depend heavily on where they finish this season, with qualification for Europe’s elite competition considered pivotal for him to remain in Sinsheim.

United make contact

The Red Devils have been “closely monitoring” Touré as a target for many years, but now appear ready to escalate their interest ahead of a pivotal transfer window at Old Trafford this summer.

A report relayed by The Peoples Person revealed United view the Ivory Coast international – who played alongside Amad at the Africa Cup of Nations – as the “missing piece” of the jigsaw for their frontline.

Touré possesses ferocious speed, having clocked in as the fastest player in the Bundesliga this season, earning him the nickname of “The Hurricane”. But he is not simply a pace merchant; rather, he is seen as a “chaos creator”, a winger capable of wreaking havoc across a backline with his unpredictability.

Fussball Daten contends this unique skillset has made the starlet “one of the most dangerous attacking weapons not only in Germany but in Europe.”

The German outlet reveals United are joined in the hunt by Arsenal, Aston Villa and Liverpool, as well as Bayern Munich who will always be on the lookout for the next big thing in the Bundesliga.

But it’s three ‘red’ clubs who are leading the race, with Arsenal said to have held “initial talks” while Liverpool’s scouts were blown away by his performance during the international break against Scotland, leading the Merseyside club to add him to their list of replacements for Mohammed Salah.

However, United officials are also in contact with Touré’s camp as the player himself is “already making concrete plans” over a summer exit.

Final Thoughts

In a bizarre twist, it appears two of United’s primary targets to upgrade the left-wing position are both young Ivorian speedsters currently thriving in the Bundesliga, with Yan Diomande – RB Leipzig’s 19-year-old breakout star – also on the club’s radar.

However, Diomande is expected to cost up to €100m (£87m) as the Red Bull organisation will fight tooth and nail to stave off interest this summer as they see him as their best prospect since Erling Haaland, who played for sister club RB Salzburg.

By contrast, Touré is likely to be available for around half of that figure (£44m), while offering a similar profile in the same position. It should prove a no-brainer for the Red Devils, with Fussball Daten concluding that the “general expectation” is the Hoffenheim winger “will leave Germany to prove himself on an even bigger stage” this summer.
