Hoffenheim winger Bazoumana Toure is set to have his Newcastle United medical this week and sign a long-term deal, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Newcastle have agreed a €50 million deal with the German club for the 20-year-old, with Magpies manager Eddie Howe set to get a replacement for Anthony Gordon at the St James Park club.

Toure played at the World Cup with Ivory Coast, featuring in three games and he has been given permission to jet into the United Kingdom for his medical.

Borussia Dortmund were one of the clubs interested in signing Toure, and he also had other suitors in England.

However, the attacker preferred the Newcastle project and could be announced this week.

He notched five goals and 12 assists in 30 Bundesliga appearances last term and will fancy his chances of proving himself in the Premier League.

The would-be Magpies forward is an explosive and highly creative winger, with his high-speed transitions one of his major strengths.

He also excels in isolated one-vs-one situations and often puts in plenty of quality crosses.

Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa will benefit from Toure’s style of play, and his pace and work rate will benefit Howe’s side.

He could become Newcastle’s second signing of the summer after French goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen was signed from Stade de Reims on a long-term contract last month.

They are set to lose Sandro Tonali to Tottenham Hotspur while Brazilian midfielder Bruno Guimaraes is keen to join Arsenal.

More departures could be on the card and Howe will hope to get the perfect replacement for every player that leaves.
