The injury to Yoane Wissa means that Newcastle United fans are soon set to see exactly what Nick Woltemade is all about.
Eddie Howe would almost have started with the relatively inexperienced (only 32 top flight starts, in the Bundesliga, so far) Germany international off the bench against Wolves, Barcelona and Bournemouth in these next three matches.
However, with the Premier League experienced Wissa getting injured on international duty, Nick Woltemade set to be thrown in at the deep end.
So what should Newcastle United fans expect?
Maybe a surprise for a fair few fans, as to what the main strengths are of this 6ft 6in striker.
Some excellent insight and analysis from BBC Sport perfectly summing Nick Woltemade up.
‘The 6ft 6in player is an aerial threat but by no means fits the profile of a classic target man. Instead he is a technically strong footballer who looks to link play and run with the ball, finishing sixth among Bundesliga strikers for dribbles attempted last season.
Last term, he also ranked fourth in the top European leagues for most touches in the opposition box per 90 minutes, and the company he keeps in that metric is telling.
The other leading players are either wingers or attacking midfielders – like Jamal Musiala and Bukayo Saka – or forwards, such as Mohamed Salah and Kylian Mbappe, who look to get on the ball and make things happen rather than simply lurking as penalty-box predators.’
Having looked at video footage of Nick Woltemade, it backs up what this BBC Sport report is saying.
Rather than just waiting in the penalty area for some service, Nick Woltemade has great dribbling skills and is often the one carrying the ball into the box, making things happen and scoring goals.
