Chelsea are known admirers of Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo who has less than 18 months left on his contract according to reports.
The Blues once again heavily invested in the squad last summer, and totally revamped their front line with five new attacking signings.
The January window has been open best part of two weeks, and Chelsea have been linked with a number of players, but it’s expected to be a quiet month at Stamford Bridge.
If an opportunity presents itself then it’s believed Chelsea would do business this month, but full focus appears to be on the summer.
The main priority for Chelsea is believed to be a midfield player to help ease the burden on Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo.

There are doubts over Romeo Lavia given his consistent injuries, and the Belgian is yet to complete a 90 minutes for the club despite joining from Southampton in the summer of 2023.
Chelsea have been linked with Elliot Anderson and Adam Wharton, but BBC Sport have reported they are known admirers of Mainoo.
The Blues have previously been linked with Mainoo, who’s struggled for game time this season, although with Ruben Amorim now gone his situation could change at Old Trafford.
Whilst Chelsea continue to look for midfield reinforcements, the Blues already have two players arriving next summer.

Geovany Quenda will arrive from Sporting Lisbon to provide another option in the wide areas, whilst Emmanuel Emegha’s arrival from Strasbourg will provide another option at the top end of the pitch.
The duo are both expected to go straight into the first team squad to compete for minutes, and it will be interesting to see what impact they are able to make next season at Stamford Bridge.
