‘Become a legend’ – Barcelona fans stunned with level of latest breakthrough youngster vs Elche | OneFootball

Supporters of La Liga giants Barcelona have on Sunday evening come together to lavish praise on Blaugrana youngster Xavi Espart. This comes after the defender shone during the club’s La Liga season opener.

Hansi Flick’s troops marked their return to action a short time ago, kicking the defence of their Spanish top-flight title into gear in a meeting with Elche.

The aforementioned Xavi was something of a surprise inclusion in Barca’s starting XI for the fixture, afforded the chance to impress in an unfamiliar left-back berth.

As has proven the case with every step of his career to date, though, the 19-year-old took the match in his stride. En route to an eventual 5-0 romp, Xavi looked completely at home on both sides of the ball.

All told, he managed seven successful ground duels, won 100% of his aerial duels, completed 85% of his passes and even chipped in with an assist.

And as alluded to above, such excellence did not go at all unappreciated on the part of the Blaugrana faithful… Taking to social media in the aftermath of their side’s spectacular season opener, Barca’s fans were quick to lavish deserved praise on the impressive Xavi:
