Porto have been handed a boost after Jan Bednarek’s late withdrawal against Arouca was deemed precautionary, with the defender available for Saturday’s trip to Académico de Viseu.

According to O Jogo, the centre-back felt muscle discomfort, signalled to the bench with Moura poised to come on, and was replaced by Nehuén Pérez.

A subsequent assessment confirmed there was no issue beyond precaution and the player appeared calm throughout.

In a separate update, Francesco Farioli granted a day off that Martim Fernandes and Oskar Pietuszewski used to continue recovery from muscle problems.

The winger trained on a modified programme late last week and has the best chance of returning for the fourth round, which would mark a first appearance this season.
