Rayan’s celebration during Brazil’s 2-1 win over Japan created a viral aura image and comparisons with Pelé. According to Globo.com, the picture flooded social media, spawned memes and edits, and is now the striker’s profile photo for Brazil and Bournemouth.

The Bournemouth forward, formerly of Vasco, began the decisive move. He won possession on the right and fed Bruno Guimarães, whose fourth assist of the World Cup put Martinelli in to score the winner in the second phase.

Rayan watched it unfold from the left edge of the box. When the ball crossed the line he leapt, sprinted behind the goal and bounced facing the crowd, then came the moment that stuck.

Separated from the main huddle and sharing a beat with the fans, he reached the scene late and improvised. He climbed the advertising board amid dozens of photographers, and the aura frames were born.

Balancing there, he first leaned on Fabinho and raised his left arm. Moments later he leaned on Léo Pereira and lifted the right. In those few seconds the No 26 stood out, recalling Pelé’s 1970 celebration.
