FC Porto’s title winners say the mood changed from day one. In the first episode of 'Conseguimos Juntos', charting their 31st league crown, they recall fresh energy and unity.

According to O Jogo, the early weeks set a different tone as standards rose and personal agendas were parked.

Cláudio Ramos said past attitudes were not enough to become champions and that a group of 20 or 30 had to set egos and personal goals aside, rowing together towards one objective.

Diogo Costa felt good energy in pre-season and said a new coach arrived with ideas that matched the club’s principles and values. He later noted the newcomers brought a will to learn and work, and that training and team time signalled a positive shift.

Gabri Veiga highlighted André Villas-Boas’s role in changing the coach, saying Francesco Farioli had a major impact. He credited Porto’s unity and mystique with transforming belief, and also pointed to the club’s big signings.

Pepê admitted he had not initially expected such a spectacular campaign, anticipating difficulties with a large influx of players and their adaptation. Over the summer he realised it would be different, saw a united group, and felt they had to respond, impose themselves and show last season’s frustration on the pitch.
