BeIN Sports is close to renewing its Coupe de France broadcast deal with the French Football Federation for four or five seasons, with a sharply higher fee.
According to L'Équipe, the Franco-Qatari broadcaster has bid for lot B, covering every tie from the round of 64, with one co-broadcast sold to another channel, so far France Télévisions. The package mirrors its current scope, valued at 4 million euros per year.
The new agreement, expected to be formalised soon, would see beIN almost double its annual payment, underscoring strong interest in a competition that delivers robust audiences.
The FFF still needs to resolve lot A, 10 matches, broadly matching France Télévisions' present contract, priced at 8 million euros annually. That includes five ties in the round of 64, then first pick through to the final.
France Télévisions has lodged a bid for lot A, plus early rounds for its regional channels and the women's Coupe de France, but at a markedly lower price. Its offer is not yet approved by the group's leadership, and the FFF hopes to lift the figure and secure sign-off, which could take some time.
