Belén Aquino scored her first Corinthians goal in a 2-2 draw with Fluminense on Friday night in the second round of the Campeonato Brasileiro Feminino. Her strike opened the scoring for the Brabas.
According to Meu Timao, the 24-year-old has featured in all five matches this season, totalling 327 minutes, and started four, including Friday, both Copa das Campeãs da Fifa fixtures and the Supercopa do Brasil. Head coach Lucas Piccinato was dismissed after the draw.
Aquino arrived at Parque São Jorge with a prolific record. For Internacional between 2023 and 2025 she registered 34 goals and 26 assists in 85 appearances, directly involved in 60 goals, and became the club’s fourth-highest scorer since the women’s team was relaunched in 2017.
Corinthians also parted company with three staff members, assistant Brenno Basso, goalkeeping coach Francisco Rodrigues and fitness coach Luiz Guilherme Gonçalves. Their departures followed Piccinato’s exit.
The team now break for the Fifa international window, when Aquino will represent Uruguay. They visit Palmeiras at Arena Barueri on 13 March at 19:30 in the third round of the Brasileirão.
