Jean-Ricner Bellegarde was not pictured in Wolverhampton Wanderers’ latest training images before the trip to Arsenal, casting doubt on his involvement.
According to Molineux.news, today’s gallery also lacked Jorgen Strand Larsen, David Moller Wolfe, Yerson Mosquera and Toti Gomes.
Wolves visit the Premier League leaders this weekend, with Rob Edwards taking his side to London. They were beaten 4-1 by Manchester United at Molineux, where supporters protested against owners Fosun, gathering outside the Billy Wright Stand before entering 15 minutes after kick-off.
Bellegarde went off just before the hour against United after pulling up while carrying the ball, an apparent muscle problem, having been Wolves’ standout performer. Edwards could not offer an immediate update afterwards and accepted it did not look good.
Marshall Munetsi has been ruled out for around six weeks and Rodrigo Gomes is not yet ready to rejoin the main group, so their absence from the session was expected.
Bellegarde would be a significant loss for Wolves, given his ability to take risks in the final third and carry the ball from deep. Edwards is likely to provide an update at his Friday press conference. There is hope his omission from the photos is purely precautionary, though that feels like a stretch.
