Bellingham ‘honoured’ to be named England player of the year | OneFootball

Jude Bellingham has been named England’s player of the year for the 2025/26 season.

The midfielder was pivotal for his country as they reached the World Cup semi-finals in North America this year.

His double against Mexico at the Azteca ensured England qualified for the quarter-finals stage on what would be a historic night for the country. He also finished the tournament as England’s top scorer with seven goals.

“It feels great,” Bellingham said “Obviously, a huge honour to be recognised by the fans again.

“It’s not something you think about when you’re playing for your country, but it’s obviously a beautiful little addition to the great summer we had, and the honour of playing for my country.”

The award was voted for by the England fans; Bellingham spoke about what he loves about them.

“The passion,” he explained. “They always come in numbers. They always sing louder than every team we play against. That makes a big difference for us on a pitch.”

England manager Thomas Tuchel praised the midfielder after he received the award.

“He just thrives under pressure, he just loves these moments, he loves these stages, and it brings out the very best in him,” the manager said.
