Jude Bellingham played a crucial role for Real Madrid in their thrilling encounter against Manchester City. After the match, he had an interesting conversation with Thierry Henry, who seemed particularly eager to discuss Rodrygo.

The former Barcelona forward was clearly impressed with the Brazilian’s abilities and was keen to hear Bellingham’s thoughts on him.

Henry pointed out that Rodrygo often does not get the recognition he deserves despite his immense skill and contribution to the team.

“Can you talk about Rodrygo? Because nobody talks about him. He’s great. His skills. And he does it for the team,” he asked the Englisman.

Bellingham did not hesitate to praise his teammate, making it clear that he considers Rodrygo to be one of the most naturally gifted players in the squad.

“Rodryo is very underrated. To me he is the most talented and gifted player on the team,” said Bellingham as quoted by SPORT.

He highlighted the Brazilian’s extraordinary technique, control, and creativity on the ball, admitting that he is often left in awe by what Rodrygo can do.

“The things Rodrygo does with the ball. I’m like, ‘How does he do that?’ My ankles would buckle.”

A team player

Despite his preference for playing on the left wing, Rodrygo has adapted to a role on the right, contributing defensively and making sacrifices for the team when needed.

His versatility and selflessness have made him an invaluable asset to Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.

“Everyone knows that his favorite position is on the left flank, but he does a lot defensively on the right, although it is not his preferred position,” he added.

Even with the arrival of Kylian Mbappe, who was expected to take a starting role, Rodrygo has continued to prove his worth and remains an integral part of the team’s attacking setup.

Bellingham acknowledged that the squad has been adjusting to playing with four attacking players at times, especially as Mbappe continues to settle in.

However, he believes the French forward is adapting well and improving with each passing day.

With an already strong team that has previously won major European honours, the addition of another world-class talent like Mbappe only strengthens their ambitions moving forward.

“Kylian is getting better every day. He is a crack and he came to a team that was already doing well, European champion with great players, we have added one more crack to continue like this, I think we have a great team,” he noted.
