Former Chelsea left back Ben Chilwell has now made his debut in France for Chelsea-owned club Strasbourg.

Well, they’re owned by BlueCo officially, who are the owners of Chelsea, with The Blues being their flagship club. They apparently want to add more to the multi-club model than just Chelsea and Strasbourg, but for now it’s just these two clubs.

There’s been a lot going on with Strasbourg lately, and the two clubs obviously do a lot of deals together. Chilwell went to Strasbourg this summer, and Strasbourg striker Emmanuel Emegha is joining Chelsea next summer, much to the disgust of the Strasbourg fans who have been turning on the 22-year-old over the weekend.

Chilwell was also playing in the game that Emegha was chanted at, booed, and faced banners from his own supporters. It was the former England international’s first game in France for his new club.

How did Chilwell fare?

Ben Chilwell at Strasbourg

Well, he started the game against Le Havre that ended in a 1-0 win for Strasbourg, but he was taken off at half time, likely to just manage him as he hasn’t played football for a while.

Chilwell vs Le Havre:

– Minutes: 45 – Accurate Passes: 18/25 – Passes Into Final Third: 7 – Tackles: 1 – Dribbled Past: 1

Not the worst start

Chilwell played a left wing back and will not be too displeased with those stats seeing as he will be quite rusty as well. Some good creative passing stats into the final third seeing as he only played one half, and overall some decent amount of touches.

I’m sure he will now grow into his role at his new club and in a new country too.
