Ben Jacobs reports on a Chelsea bid for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Everton have had serious trouble locking down signings to improve them this summer, and it looks like they’ve settle on KDH as a gettable player. Fabrizio Romano reported just an hour ago in an exclusive that the Toffees had made an official offer for the midfielder. He said the club had submitted an “official bid” for a permanent transfer.

Fulham have also been linked with interest in the former Leicester midfielder, signed by Chelsea for £30m just over a year ago.

Chelsea’s terms for KDH deal not yet clear

Fellow well connected Chelsea insider Ben Jacobs has just followed up. He agreed that Everton have “made an approach”, but denied that there was a “formal bid” at this stage.

Ultimately it doesn’t matter whether there has or hasn’t been an official bid yet. Both insiders agree there is serious interest and the potential for a proper offer either way. Chelsea are not looking to sell, but will also likely accept a good offer. Andrey Santos and Dario Essugo have brought depth to central midfield, and the attacking signings made this summer should decrease the need for KDH to be used in those areas too.

There will be no Conference League for him to pick up minutes either, so his value is likely to fall with decreased appearances this season. The question now is how much we would ask for him – we would imagine the club aren’t willing to take a loss on their investment last summer.
