Raheem Sterling is willing to wait to make his next move after failing to secure a move away from Chelsea this summer according to Ben Jacobs.

Sterling was one of a number of players Chelsea were looking to move on this summer, and they were always going to face a difficult task moving the winger one.

The 30-year-old’s career has been on a steady decline since joining from Manchester City in 2022 in a deal worth £50m.

Raheem Sterling willing to wait for his next club

It became apparent very quickly that Sterling wasn’t going to be part of Enzo Maresca’s plans, and he was frozen out of the first team picture last summer.

It appeared Sterling would remain at the club, but he secured a deadline day loan move to Arsenal, but his struggles continued in north London with just one goal in 28 appearances in all competitions.

Sterling is back at Chelsea training with the “bomb squad” and had attracted interest from three Premier League clubs.

However, the Blues didn’t receive any offers for Sterling on deadline day, and he’s now set to remain at the club until at least January.

Sterling has made it clear he doesn’t want to move to Saudi Arabia despite their window still being open, and Jacobs has provided an update on the situation.

Jacobs has reported for Give Me Sport that Sterling is willing to wait for his next move, and ideally wants to remain in London.

He adds that Chelsea are unlikely to terminate Sterling’s contract, but the subject has yet to be discussed between the parties.

Axel Disasi could join Besiktas

Sterling isn’t the only player Chelsea failed to move on, with Axel Disasi also falling into that category despite having loan offers.

Disasi is said to have turned down three offers from Premier League clubs on deadline day, and now faces the prospect of playing no football until January.

Saudi side Neom are considering another approach, whilst Turkish side Besiktas are thought to be pursuing a move for the 27-year-old.
