Benfica and Valencia are at a stalemate over Enzo Barrenechea. According to Glorioso 1904, Valencia want the Argentine midfielder but their proposal does not match Benfica's demands.

The Spanish club are seeking his return for next season, as he is not viewed as indispensable in Lisbon. Benfica, however, are not interested in loaning out the No 5.

Rui Costa's club intend to sell Barrenechea this summer for around 15 million euros, mirroring the sum invested to sign him from Aston Villa. That structure is not ideal for Valencia.

His spell at Mestalla left a positive impression, and Valencia prefer a straight loan without any commitment to buy, certainly not at 15 million euros. With limited liquidity, the Spaniards are an unappealing partner for Benfica, leaving the player's future unresolved.

This season for Benfica, Barrenechea has made 43 competitive appearances, 26 in Liga Portugal Betclic, 13 in the Champions League, two in the Taça de Portugal, one in the Taça da Liga and one in the Supertaça. Across 2,967 minutes, he has scored two goals and supplied one assist.
