Norway have named a 26-man World Cup squad, with Benfica pair Fredrik Aursnes and Andreas Schjelderup included by head coach Stale Solbakken. Their selection comes as the nation prepares for a long-awaited return to the finals.

According to Glorioso 1904, Norway are in Group I with France, Senegal and Iraq. The squad announcement reflects Solbakken’s trust in both players.

Aursnes, 30, returns after stepping away in 2023 to focus on Benfica and his personal life. Having made himself available again, he is recalled for football’s biggest stage.

Schjelderup, 21, heads to the tournament after a breakout season at Benfica. The winger produced 10 goals and 7 assists, earning a first major finals call.

Norway’s participation ends almost three decades without a World Cup appearance. The list also features Erling Haaland and Martin Odegaard.
