Diego Nunes will leave Benfica’s futsal team at the end of the season after opting not to renew his contract.
According to Glorioso 1904, Palma are among his possible destinations, although no formal agreement is in place with the Spanish club. The 31-year-old, still working under Cassiano Klein, is assessing options.
The current three-time UEFA Futsal Champions League winners, whom Nunes represented before joining Benfica, are following his situation and will be in this year’s final four. Benfica will not feature.
His exit is expected to be calm and without dispute. Both Benfica and the player retain mutual respect and gratitude, so the farewell should be amicable.
This season for Benfica, Nunes has played 24 matches and scored 13 goals.
Since arriving from Palma, the Brazil international winger has made 134 appearances and found the net 72 times.
