Benfica lead global transfer balance with 346 million euros surplus

Benfica sit top of a global ranking for transfer balances over the past five years, posting a 346 million euros surplus from 135 deals.
CIES said in a report published on Wednesday that the Lisbon club lead the standings.
Rui Costa's board spent 465 million euros on signings in that period, offset by 811 million euros raised in player sales, securing first place.
Major departures include Enzo Fernández to Chelsea for 121 million euros and Darwin Núñez to Liverpool for 85 million euros. João Neves moved to Paris Saint-Germain for 65 million euros, while Álvaro Carreras joined Real Madrid for 50 million euros.
The biggest arrivals were Orkun Kokçu from Feyenoord for 30 million euros, Richard Ríos from Palmeiras for 27 million euros, Franjo Ivanovic from Union Saint-Gilloise for 23 million euros and Marcos Leonardo from Santos for 22 million euros.
Benfica sit ahead of Porto, Ajax and PSV in the list, with Porto the next best-placed Portuguese side in seventh on 178 million euros. Monaco also feature in the top 10.
