According to Glorioso 1904, Benfica are on alert after Georgiy Sudakov left Ukraine’s 3-0 win over Northern Ireland with an injury.
The midfielder was withdrawn in the 68th minute after a heavy tackle by Northern Ireland defender Spencer, leaving the pitch limping and in clear discomfort.
Team-mate Eduard Sarapiy said he had just seen Sudakov, who was limping, and that the player thinks it could be a serious injury.
There is no official diagnosis yet, and the extent of the problem remains unclear. Ukraine’s medical staff will monitor him in the coming hours. The national team are due to face Hungary on Monday in the Nations League.
Sudakov has become important in Marco Silva’s plans and is currently the main option for the No 10 role behind the striker. Any prolonged absence would be a significant blow, but conclusions depend on forthcoming tests and medical evaluation.
