According to Glorioso 1904, Benfica are monitoring Bastien Meupiyou, the 20-year-old French centre-back owned by Alverca, but face strong competition from Napoli and Borussia Dortmund.
He has emerged as a sought-after prospect after a breakout season in Portugal. Napoli have watched him several times and held initial talks to gauge the terms of a possible deal.
Dortmund are among the most assertive suitors, having already tabled an offer worth up to 17 million euros, 12 million guaranteed plus 5 million in add-ons. The Bundesliga club have tracked him since his development at Nantes.
Meupiyou was one of Alverca’s standouts last season, making 32 appearances and becoming a key figure for coach Custódio Castro. He has also been linked with moves outside Europe, including to the Middle East.
Under contract until 2028, Alverca hold 50% of the player’s rights, and the France under-18 international carries an estimated valuation of about 7 million euros. Any sale could deliver a significant return for the Ribatejo club as interest intensifies around the young defender.
